Green Hills School Selected as a 2013-2014 Interdistrict Public School Choice Location
Green Hills School in Greendell, NJ has been selected as a 2013-2014 Interdistrict Public School Choice location. The Interdistrict Public School Choice Program was originally created by the New Jersey legislature in January 2000 as a five-year pilot program designed to explore whether public school choice would provide a viable educational option for New Jersey students and their families by offering flexibility in selecting a public school program that best meets the needs of an individual student. In June 2010, the legislature established a permanent Interdistrict Public School Choice Program. Under the school choice program, interested New Jersey school districts apply to become choice districts, opening seats into which they will accept non-resident students at the expense of the state. This enables Green Hills, a Sussex County school, to receive money that normally goes to other areas of the state.
Green Hills was selected based on the following criteria:
Green Hills is a beautiful kdg.-8th grade school that is "Second to None." Green has small class sizes and a commitment to treating all learners as unique, intelligent individuals. Small group instruction and conferencing with individuals is ubiquitous. We believe that heavily investing in our human capital creates professionals that are the fully prepared to meet and exceed all expectations. We believe that families from outside of Green should be able to experience what make Green Hills so special. Please visit Green Hills School at www.greenhills.org or call 973-300-3800 and ask for Mr. John Z. Nittolo, Chief School Administrator, to learn more about our school.
