Seniors Save on Insurance Costs with AARP Course
(Newton, N.J.) The Sussex County Department of Human Services, Division of Senior Services is offering the “AARP Safe Driving Course for Motorists Over 50.” The two-day course will take place on Tuesday, March 23, 2010 and Tuesday, March 30, 2010, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., at the Sussex County Main Library, 125 Morris Turnpike, Newton, NJ. Participants must attend both days. Light refreshments will be provided each day. Registration fees are $12.00 per person for AARP members and $14.00 per person for non-members, which go towards the cost of materials for the course.
AARP provides qualified and trained instructors for the course, which is the nation’s first and largest program for motorists over the age of 50. Motorists learn how to avoid driving hazards; recognize changes in vision, hearing and reaction times and how to adjust their driving accordingly. Those who complete the course are entitled to a three-year discount on their insurance premiums. There is no testing involved with this program.
Space is limited and pre-paid registration is required.
Checks must be made payable to AARP and sent to Sussex County Division of Senior Services, One Spring Street, Newton, NJ, 07860. Registrations must be received by Tuesday, March 16, 2010. For additional information, contact the Sussex County Division of Senior Services at 973-579-0555.
