(Newton, N.J., January 24, 2008) The Sussex County Department of Environmental and Public Health Services in collaboration with the New Jersey Department of Health and Senior Services, Communicable Disease Service is sponsoring a Hepatitis A training on Thursday, February 21, 2008, from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Tri-Co Federal Credit Union, 47 Route 206, Augusta, N.J. 07822. (Registration begins at 9:30 a.m.)
Ellen Rudowski, RN, C, APN, C, NJDHSS Office of Communicable Disease Service, will provide a comprehensive overview of Hepatitis A virus (HAV) epidemiology and incidence, review HAV immunology and laboratory testing interpretation, discuss the steps of a HAV investigation, identify an appropriate HAV public health response and reinforce HAV prevention measures.
This training is designed for public health professionals (e.g., health officers, REHS, public health nurses, health educators, disease investigators, epidemiologists), registered nurses, public school professionals and any other interested individuals.
2.50 Nursing contact hours and Health Officer/REHS CEU’s will be awarded to attendees.
