Sussex County Prosecutor Francis A. Koch announced the entry of a guilty plea to an accusation before the Honorable William J. McGovern, III, J.S.C. at the Sussex County Courthouse in Newton on January 17, 2017 by Roy A. Allen.
Allen, age 24, of Brooklyn, New York, pled guilty to Conspiracy to Commit Forgery, a crime of the third degree. Sentencing is presently scheduled for February 24, 2017.
The defendant admitted to driving his co-defendant to the Branchville, Lafayette and Augusta Post Offices where his co-defendant then cashed forged money orders. While they were at the Hamburg Post Office, again attempting to cash a forged money order, the Hamburg Police arrived. Allen drove away and was later charged. New Jersey State Troopers also assisted in the multi-jurisdiction investigation.
Allen was represented by Michael Justice, Esq. and the State was represented by Assistant Prosecutor Donald F. Cox, Jr.
