Senior Farmers’ Market Vouchers Still Available
There is still time for eligible Sussex County Seniors to obtain Farmers’ Market Vouchers for the purchase of New Jersey fresh fruits and vegetables at participating farm stands. Vouchers are valid through November 30. Seniors must complete an application and provide proof of eligibility. Seniors must be Sussex County residents who are 60 years of age or older and meet the following income guidelines:
Single: $18,889.00 annual; $1,575.00 monthly; $364.00 weekly
Married: $25,327.00 annual; $2,111.00 monthly; $488.00 weekly
Seniors should note that the PAAD card is no longer acceptable as proof of eligibility. A 2006 income tax return, social security statement, valid Medicaid card, valid food stamp verification or bank statement are acceptable proof of income eligibility. Those who qualify will receive four (4) five dollar ($5.00) vouchers. Vouchers will be distributed at the Healthy Living Festival at the Hardyston Middle School, 183 Wheatsworth Road, Hamburg, on Saturday, October 27 between the hours of 9:30 am and 3:30 pm. Vouchers can also be picked up at the Sussex County Division of Senior Services, One Spring Street, 2nd Floor, Newton. Eligible seniors who are homebound may receive vouchers through a proxy.
