Sussex County Prosecutor Francis A. Koch announced the entry of a guilty plea to an accusation and to a complaint before the Honorable William J. McGovern III, J.S.C., at the Sussex County Courthouse in Newton on June 19, 2017, by Eric Gessner.
Gessner, age 25 of Hopatcong, pled guilty to Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance, a third degree crime, and Receiving Stolen Property, a disorderly persons offense. Sentencing is presently anticipated for July 28, 2017.
In pleading guilty, the defendant admitted to receiving a personal check, knowing it was stolen, on October 25, 2016, in Hopatcong Boro. He also admitted to being in possession of three folds of heroin on February 22, 2017, in Hopatcong.
The cases were investigated by Patrolman J. Bianculli and Patrolman A. Cirri of the Hopatcong Police Department.
Gessner was represented by Steven Insley, Esq., and the State was represented by Assistant Prosecutor Donald F. Cox, Jr.
