Sussex County Prosecutor Francis A. Koch announced the entry of a guilty plea to an accusation and an indictment before the Honorable William J. McGovern III, J.S.C., at the Sussex County Courthouse in Newton on May 1, 2017, by Michael Langan.
Langan, age 29 of Hamburg, pled guilty to Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance, a third degree crime, and Failure to Turn Over a Controlled Dangerous Substance, a disorderly persons offense. Sentencing is presently anticipated for June 16, 2017.
In pleading guilty, the defendant admitted to having eight wax folds of heroin on September 3, 2015, in Sussex Borough. He also admitted to failing to turn over heroin to a Hamburg police officer during a motor vehicle stop on August 2, 2015.
The case was investigated by Tpr. M. Huncken of the New Jersey State Police and Patrolman L. Barcza of the Hamburg Borough Police Department.
Langan was represented by Steven Insley, Esq., and the State was represented by Assistant Prosecutor Donald F. Cox, Jr.
