Sussex County Prosecutor Francis A. Koch announced the sentencing of Shawn King, who appeared before the Honorable William J. McGovern III, J.S.C., at the Sussex County Courthouse in Newton on April 28, 2017.
King, age 30 of Sloatsburg, New York, was sentenced to three years in New Jersey State Prison with credit for 20 days’ time served. He was ordered to submit a DNA sample and pay fines and fees totaling $280.00.
He pled guilty on March 22, 2017, to Conspiracy to Commit Theft and Theft by Deception, both third degree crimes.
King and his co-defendant agreed to fraudulently obtain electrical supplies from an electrical supply company. The defendants obtained the supplies on various dates before being taken into custody on their final attempt on July 16, 2015.
King was represented by Janine Cerra, Esq., and the State was represented by Assistant Prosecutor Stephanie LaCarrubba.
