Sussex County Prosecutor Francis A. Koch announced the sentencing of Brianne Lutz, who appeared before the Honorable William J. McGovern, III, J.S.C. at the Sussex County Courthouse in Newton on April 20, 2017.
Lutz, age 34, of Newton, was sentenced to five years Probation and a six month loss of her driver’s license. She must also obtain and maintain gainful employment, submit a DNA sample, undergo a TASC evaluation and follow all recommendations, obtain substance abuse and mental health treatment and pay $1,205.00 in court fines and fees.
She pled guilty on March 22, 2017, to Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance and Receiving Stolen Property, both crimes of the third degree and fourth degree Receiving Stolen Property.
In May of 2016 the defendant was in receipt of various items taken during home burglaries in Green and Fredon by a co-defendant. She was also a passenger involved in a motor vehicle stop by Sparta Police and was found to be in possession of Heroin, this incident occurred in January 2017.
Lutz was represented by Leanne Healy, Esq. and the State was represented by Assistant Prosecutor Brent M. Rafuse.
