Sussex County Prosecutor Francis A. Koch announced the sentencing of George Decker, who appeared before the Honorable William J. McGovern III, J.S.C., at the Sussex County Courthouse in Newton on March 24, 2017.
Decker, age 27 of Newton, was sentenced to 90 days in the Keogh-Dwyer Correctional Facility with credit for 64 days served and concurrent with three years of probation. He was ordered to participate in Capitol Care, submit to a TASC evaluation and follow any and all recommendations made from same, submit a DNA sample at his own expense, make restitution of $3,045.00, and pay fines and fees totaling $155.00.
He pled guilty on February 1, 2017, to Theft, a third degree crime, and Violation of Probation.
The defendant took jewelry, a computer, and a rock collection from an individual in Andover Township in November of 2015.
Decker was represented by Steven Insley, Esq., and the State was represented by Assistant Prosecutor Shaina Brenner.
