Press Release - Indictment of Stephen K. Castimore

PRESS RELEASE

     Sussex County Prosecutor Francis A. Koch announced that the Sussex County Grand Jury handed up an indictment to the Honorable William J. McGovern, III, J.S.C., at the courthouse in Newton on March 16, 2017. 

     The indictment charges Stephen K. Castimore age 23, of Sussex with one count of Robbery, a first degree crime; one count of Robbery, a second degree crime; one count of possession of a weapon, a third degree crime; one count of unlawful possession of  a weapon, a fourth degree crime; one count of theft of moveable property, a third degree crime; one count of Aggravated Assault, a second degree crime; one count of Aggravated Assault, a third degree crime and one count of possession of a controlled dangerous substance, a third degree crime.  The case was investigated by the New Jersey State Police and the Sussex County Prosecutor’s Office.

     The case was presented to the Grand Jury by Assistant Prosecutor Seana Pappas.  Arraignment before the Superior Court in Newton will be within the next 6 weeks.

     A Grand Jury indictment is a charge only.  The defendant is presumed innocent until guilt may be proved at a jury trial.
