Sussex County Prosecutor Francis A. Koch announced the sentencing of Nelson Jimenez, who appeared before the Honorable William J. McGovern III, J.S.C., at the Sussex County Courthouse in Newton on March 7, 2017.
Jimenez, age 28 of Newton, was sentenced to two years of probation and a mandatory 180 days in jail with no parole. He was ordered to submit a DNA sample at his own expense and pay fines and fees totaling $155.00.
He pled guilty on October 4, 2016, to Driving While License is Suspended for Second or Subsequent Driving While Intoxicated violation, a fourth degree crime.
On November 19, 2015, New Jersey State Police were dispatched to a single car motor vehicle accident in Hampton Township. An investigation revealed that the defendant was operating the vehicle at the time of the accident and that his license was suspended for a second conviction for driving while intoxicated.
The case was investigated by Trooper R. C. Bowness of the New Jersey State Police.
Jimenez was represented by Daniel Marchese, Esq., and the State was represented by Assistant Prosecutor Donald F. Cox, Jr.
