Sussex County Prosecutor Francis A. Koch announced the sentencing of Eric Schnitzler, who appeared before the Honorable William J. McGovern, III, J.S.C. at the Sussex County Courthouse in Newton on January 27, 2017.
Eric Schnitzler, 48, of Hopatcong, was sentenced to three year probation, with the conditions that he continue and complete Mental Health counseling, have no unsupervised contact with minors, internet monitoring through probation, obtain employment, and submit a DNA sample. He also was ordered to pay mandatory fines and fees totaling $905.
He pled guilty on November 29, 2016, to one count of Endangering the Welfare of Children by possessing an item depicting the sexual exploitation or abuse of a child (a Third Degree Crime).
The Defendant was represented by Jeffrey S. Katz, Esq., and the State was represented by Assistant Prosecutor Seana Pappas.
