Sussex County Prosecutor Francis A. Koch announced the sentencing of James Sweller, who appeared before the Honorable William J. McGovern III, J.S.C., at the Sussex County Courthouse in Newton on January 13, 2017.
Sweller, age 41 of Newton, was sentenced to three (3) years in New Jersey State Prison and Parole Supervision for Life. Sweller was also ordered to pay $916.92 in restitution along with mandatory fines and fees.
Sweller pled guilty on October 20, 2016 to four (4) counts of Burglary, third degree offenses; one (1) count of defrauding a drug test, a third degree offense; one (1) count of possessing an instrument designed to defraud a drug test, a third degree offense; and one (1) count of violating the terms of community supervision for life.
Sweller was represented by William J. Oake, Esq., and the State was represented by Assistant Prosecutor Stephanie LaCarrubba.
