Press Release - Sentencing of John Yorke

     Sussex County Prosecutor Francis A. Koch announced the sentencing of John Yorke, who appeared before the Honorable William J. McGovern, III, J.S.C. at the Sussex County Courthouse in Newton on January 6, 2017.

     Yorke, age 49, of Wantage, New Jersey, was sentenced to five years probation with the conditions that he obtain a GED, have no unsupervised contact with minors, undergo a psychiatric evaluation, have no internet usage except for employment, and release all computer passwords to probation. He also was ordered to pay mandatory fines and fees totaling $905.

     He pled guilty on November 16, 2016, to one count of Endangering the Welfare of Children by possessing an item depicting the sexual exploitation or abuse of a child (a Third Degree Crime).

     Yorke was represented by Bruce Farrier, Esq., and the State was represented by Assistant Prosecutor Stephanie C. LaCarrubba.
