Sussex County Prosecutor Francis A. Koch announced the sentencing of Robert Agresta, who appeared before the Honorable William J. McGovern III, J.S.C., at the Sussex County Courthouse in Newton on January 6, 2017.
Agresta, age 53 of Newton, was sentenced to five years of non-custodial probation with jail credit for 12 days served. His driver license was ordered suspended for two years which will run concurrent with the motor vehicle convictions. He was ordered to submit a DNA sample at his own expense and pay fines and fees totaling $4,147.00.
He pled guilty on November 30, 2016, to Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance, a third degree crime, and to the motor vehicle offenses of No Insurance, Driving While Suspended and Unregistered Vehicle.
On May 7, 2016, the defendant was stopped for a motor vehicle violation. He was found to be in possession of 160 wax folds of heroin and driving while suspended in an unregistered, uninsured vehicle.
Agresta was represented by Leanne Healy, Esq., and the State was represented by Assistant Prosecutor Shaina Brenner.
