Sussex County Prosecutor Francis A. Koch announced the sentencing of John Colgate, who appeared before the Honorable Stephen J. Taylor, P.J.S.C., at the Morris County Courthouse in Morristown on December 9, 2016.
Colgate, age 35 of Stanhope, was sentenced to one year of probation and received a jail credit of one day. He was ordered to pay fines and fees totaling $693.00 and his driver license was suspended for one day.
He pled guilty on October 19, 2016, to Possession of a Prohibited Weapon, a fourth degree crime, and Driving While Suspended, a motor vehicle offense.
The defendant was in possession of a taser and drove while his license was suspended on April 6, 2016, in Hopatcong.
Colgate was represented by Maureen Ingersoll, Esq., and the State was represented by Assistant Prosecutor Sally Anne Monkemeier.
