Press Release - Sentencing of Jason Morse

October 31, 2016
     Sussex County Prosecutor Francis A. Koch announced the sentencing of Jason Morse, who appeared before the Honorable William J. McGovern III, J.S.C., at the Sussex County Courthouse in Newton on October 28, 2016.

     Morse, age 36 of Ogdensburg, was sentenced to three years of probation and 180 days in a home detention program, with eight days jail credit.  He was ordered to attend three AA/NA meetings per week, obtain his GED, submit to a TASC evaluation as directed by probation, and pay fines and fees of $155.00.

     He pled guilty on August 1, 2016, to Theft, a fourth degree crime.

     The defendant took a generator from a Sparta residence on January 22, 2016. 

     Morse was represented by Steven Insley, Esq., and the State was represented by Assistant Prosecutor Rachelle Jones.
