Press Release - Sentencing of Russell Shine

October 12, 2016
     Sussex County Prosecutor Francis A. Koch announced the sentencing of Russell Shine, who appeared before the Honorable William J. McGovern III, J.S.C., at the Sussex County Courthouse in Newton on October 7, 2016.

     Shine, age 54 of Downington, PA, was sentenced to one (1) year of probation.  Shine Shine was ordered to have a mental health and substance abuse evaluation, and pay mandatory fines and fees. 

     Shine pled guilty on July 6, 2016 to one (1) count of harassment, a petty disorderly persons offense and one (1) count of contempt, a disorderly persons offense. 

     On November 6, 2014, Shine was arrested after he violated a domestic violence final restraining order.

     The case was investigated by Cpl. J. Higgins of the Vernon Township Police Department.

     Shine was represented by Leanne Healy, Esq., and the State was represented by Assistant Prosecutor Seana Pappas.
