Press Release - Sentencing of Kolby Kapetanakis

     Sussex County Prosecutor Francis A. Koch announced the sentencing of Kolby Kapetanakis, who appeared before the Honorable William J. McGovern III, J.S.C., at the Sussex County Courthouse in Newton on October 21, 2016.

     Kapetanakis, age 34 of Sussex, was sentenced to three years probation.  He was ordered to submit to a TASC evaluation and follow all recommendations from same, complete 50 hours community service work, and pay fines and fees.

     He pled guilty on September 12, 2016, to Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance, a third degree crime, and Shoplifting, a disorderly persons offense. 

     On February 20, 2016, the defendant was in possession of heroin and shoplifted from the Wantage Quick Chek.

     Kapetanakis was represented by Leanne Healy, Esq., and the State was represented by Assistant Prosecutor Laura Nazzaro.
