Sussex County Prosecutor Francis A. Koch announced the sentencing of Rachel Houghtaling, who appeared before the Honorable William J. McGovern III, J.S.C., at the Sussex County Courthouse in Newton on October 7, 2016.
Houghtaling, age 25 of Lock Sheldrake, New York, was sentenced to 3 years non-custodial probation. She was ordered to submit to a substance abuse evaluation and follow all recommendations made from same, cooperate in the prosecution of co-defendants. Her driver license was ordered suspended for six months.
She pled guilty on August 29, 2016, to Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance, a third degree crime.
She was in possession of heroin and/or Fentanyl during a traffic stop in Lafayette on July 21, 2015.
Houghtaling was represented by William Oake, Esq., and the State was represented by Assistant Prosecutor Seana Pappas.
