Press Release - Plea of Christopher Courter

     Sussex County Prosecutor Francis A. Koch announced the entry of a guilty plea to an accusation before the Honorable N. Peter Conforti, J.S.C., at the Sussex County Courthouse in Newton on October 18, 2016, by Christopher Courter.

     Courter, age 34 of Hopatcong, pled guilty to Receiving Stolen Property, a third degree crime.  Sentencing is presently anticipated for December 2, 2016.

     In pleading guilty, the defendant admitted to receiving a Dell laptop and an iPhone on June 19, 2016, in Hopatcong, knowing the property was stolen.

     The case was investigated by Detective William Sutphen Jr. of the Hopatcong Police Department. 

     Courter was represented by Bruce Farrier, Esq., and the State was represented by Assistant Prosecutor Donald F. Cox, Jr.
