Sussex County Prosecutor Francis A. Koch announced the entry of guilty pleas to an accusation and to an indictment before the Honorable William J. McGovern III, J.S.C., at the Sussex County Courthouse in Newton on October 11, 2016, by Candace Halpin.
Halpin, age 27 of Vernon, pled guilty to Possession of Heroin, a third degree crime, and Failure to Turn Over, a disorderly persons offense. Sentencing is presently anticipated for November 18, 2016.
In pleading guilty, the defendant admitted to being in possession of 19 bags of heroin on May 12, 2012, in Vernon and failing to turn over 18 bags of heroin on October 11, 2012, in Newton.
The cases were investigated by Sgt. Brian Jernick of the Vernon Township Police Department and members of the Sussex County Sheriff’s Office.
Halpin was represented by Leanne Healy, Esq., and the State was represented by Assistant Prosecutor Donald F. Cox, Jr.
