Sussex County Prosecutor Francis A. Koch announced the sentencing of Patricia Hatton, who appeared before the Honorable William J. McGovern III, J.S.C., at the Sussex County Courthouse in Newton on September 16, 2016.
Hatton, age 47 of Port Jervis, was sentenced to two years of probation. She was ordered to complete 150 hours of community service work, continue mental health counseling, submit a DNA sample at her own expense, and pay fines and fees totaling $155.00.
She pled guilty on August 1, 2016, to Shoplifting, a third degree crime.
On May 6, 2016, the defendant concealed multiple household grocery items and left the Montague Shop Rite without paying for the merchandise.
Hatton was represented by Janine Cerra, Esq., and the State was represented by Assistant Prosecutor Donald F. Cox, Jr.
