Sussex County Prosecutor Francis A. Koch announced the sentencing of Jonathan Barkhorn, who appeared before the Honorable William J. McGovern III, J.S.C., at the Sussex County Courthouse in Newton on September 16, 2016.
Barkhorn, age 32 of Sparta, was sentenced to 270 days in the Keogh-Dwyer Correctional Facility and was given credit for 120 days served. He was ordered to submit a DNA sample at his own expense and pay fines and fees totaling $155.00.
He pled guilty on March 7, 2016, to Resisting Arrest, a fourth degree crime.
The defendant admitted to running from police officers after they ordered him to stop in an attempt to avoid arrest on March 31, 2015, in Sparta Township.
Barkhorn was represented by Steven Kossup, Esq., and the State was represented by Assistant Prosecutor Donald F. Cox, Jr.
