Sussex County Prosecutor Francis A. Koch announced the sentencing of Keith Mackerley, who appeared before the Honorable William J. McGovern III, J.S.C., at the Sussex County Courthouse in Newton on September 9, 2016.
Mackerley, age 33 of Port Jervis, New York, was sentenced to three years of probation. He was ordered to complete 100 hours of community service work, submit to a TASC evaluation and follow any and all recommendations from same, obtain his GED, and pay fines and fees totaling $1,285.00.
He pled guilty on August 1, 2016, to Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance, a third degree crime, and Improper Lighting, a motor vehicle offense.
On June 4, 2016, he was stopped by a New Jersey State Trooper for a motor vehicle offense and was found to be in possession of crack cocaine.
Mackerley was represented by Leanne Healy, Esq., and the State was represented by Assistant Prosecutor Stephanie LaCarrubba.
