Sussex County Prosecutor Francis A. Koch announced the sentencing of Hardwick Stires, who appeared before the Honorable William J. McGovern, III, J.S.C. at the Sussex County Courthouse in Newton on August 12, 2016.
Stires, age 26, of Basking Ridge, was sentenced to eleven (11) years in New Jersey State Prison with credit for 617 days already served and is subject to the No Early Release Act and parole supervision for five years when he is released. The defendant must testify truthfully against his co-defendants, submit a DNA sample and pay a total of $2,938 restitution to his various victims.
Stires pled guilty on June 27, 2016 to four (4) counts of first degree Robbery.
The defendant committed armed robbery at four separate businesses between December 1, 2014 and December 3, 2014. Over the three day period he entered Roserne’s Liquor Store in Kinnelon, Delta Gas Station located in Wantage, Plains Pharmacy in Franklin and the Hampton Quick Chek using an imitation firearm to demand money from the employees of the businesses.
