Sussex County Prosecutor Francis A. Koch announced the sentencing of James Musial, who appeared before the Honorable William J. McGovern, III, J.S.C. at the Sussex County Courthouse in Newton on July 22, 2016.
Musial, age 28, of Harveys Lake, Pennsylvania, was sentenced to one year Probation and must serve thirty days in the Keogh-Dwyer Correctional Facility. He received credit for 19 days already served. The defendant must also obtain a TASC evaluation and follow all recommendations, obtain his GED, submit a DNA sample, testify truthfully against his co-defendant and pay $1,205.00 in court fines and fees.
He pled guilty on May 31, 2016, to third degree Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance.
While the defendant was a passenger in a motor vehicle that had been stopped by New Jersey State Troopers he was found to be in possession of Heroin.
Musial was represented by James Brady, Esq. and the State was represented by Assistant Prosecutor Brent M. Rafuse.
