Sussex County Prosecutor Francis A. Koch announced the sentencing of Alyssia Schmitt, who appeared before the Honorable William J. McGovern III, J.S.C., at the Sussex County Courthouse in Newton on July 15, 2016.
Schmitt, age 22 of Newton, was sentenced to three years of probation. She was ordered to complete 50 hours of community service work, submit to a TASC evaluation and follow all recommendations, appear for drug monitoring, submit a DNA sample at her own expense, and pay fines and fees totaling $155.
She pled guilty on May 31, 2016, to Credit Card Theft, a fourth degree crime.
The defendant took her father’s credit card without permission and made transactions at multiple locations.
Schmitt was represented by Michael Justice, Esq., and the State was represented by Assistant Prosecutor Laura Nazzaro.
