Press Release - Plea of Jquan Williams

     Sussex County Prosecutor Francis A. Koch announced the entry of a guilty plea to an accusation before the Honorable William J. McGovern III, J.S.C., at the Sussex County Courthouse in Newton on July 5, 2016, by Jquan Williams.

     Williams, age 18 of Newton, pled guilty to Aggravated Assault, a third degree crime.  Sentencing is presently anticipated for August 26, 2016.

     On April 21, 2016, the defendant had a hard plastic medical cast on his hand.  In pleading guilty, he admitted to hitting an individual with his casted hand causing a laceration requiring staples.

     The case was investigated by Officer Michael Haggerty of the Andover Township Police Department.

     Williams was represented by Steven Insley, Esq., and the State was represented by Assistant Prosecutor Donald F. Cox, Jr.
