Sussex County Prosecutor Francis A. Koch announced the sentencing of Jonathan Koza, who appeared before the Honorable William J. McGovern III, J.S.C., at the Sussex County Courthouse in Newton on June 16, 2016.
Koza, age 41 of Newton, was sentenced to 30 months of probation and 50 hours of community service. Koza was ordered to comply with the recommendations of his substance abuse evaluation and ordered to pay mandatory fines and fees.
He pled guilty on March 10, 2016 to one count of evidence tampering, a fourth degree offense and contempt, a disorderly persons offense. He also plead guilty to reckless driving, careless driving, unsafe lane change and driving while suspended.
On April 25, 2014, the defendant was involved in a motor vehicle accident in Hampton.
Koza was represented by Leanne Healy, Esq., and the State was represented by Assistant Prosecutor Shaina Brenner.
