Press Release - Sentence of Richard Doty

Sussex County Prosecutor Francis A. Koch announced the sentencing of Richard Doty, who appeared before the Honorable William J. McGovern III, J.S.C., at the Sussex County Courthouse in Newton on June 10, 2016.
Doty, age 58 of Newton, was sentenced to two years of non-custodial probation. He was ordered to submit to a TASC evaluation and following any and all recommendations made from same, attend two AA/NA meetings weekly, continue with his support group and pay fines and fees totaling $1,205.00.
He pled guilty on April 25, 2016, to Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance, a third degree crime.
On February 25, 2016, the defendant was found to be in possession of three bags of heroin in Newton.
Doty was represented by Steven Insley, Esq., and the State was represented by Assistant Prosecutor Donald F. Cox, Jr.
