Press Release - Plea of Matthew Harries

Sussex County Prosecutor Francis A. Koch announced the entry of a guilty plea to an accusation before the Honorable William J. McGovern, III, J.S.C. at the Sussex County Courthouse in Newton on June 8, 2016 by Matthew Harries.

Harries, age 24, of Hawthorne, pled guilty to Burglary, Theft and Conspiracy to Commit Burglary, all crimes of the third degree.  Sentencing is presently scheduled for July 22, 2016.

The defendant admitted that in November of 2014 he and a co-defendant conspired and agreed to burglarize a Green Township residence and followed through with the plan, taking various items including money, jewelry, and a television.

Harries was represented by Janine Cerra, Esq. and the State was represented by Assistant Prosecutor Donald J. Cox, Jr.
