Press Release - Pleas of Aaron Hines

Sussex County Prosecutor Francis A. Koch announced the entry of a guilty plea to an accusation before the Honorable William J. McGovern III, J.S.C., at the Sussex County Courthouse in Newton on May 23, 2016, by Aaron Hines.
Hines, age 25 of Hamburg, pled guilty to Attempt to Obtain a Controlled Dangerous Substance by Fraud, a third degree crime, and Fictitious Report, a disorderly persons offense. Sentencing is presently anticipated for July 29, 2016.
In pleading guilty, the defendant admitted to calling three pharmacies in Franklin on March 1 and March 2, 2016, identifying himself as a doctor, and attempting to obtain Xanax. The defendant also admitted that on February 2, 2016, he lied about an attempted robbery in Hamburg.
The cases were investigated by Detective Nevin Mattessich of the Franklin Police Department and Patrolman David McNulty of the Hamburg Police Department.
Hines was represented by Leanne Healy, Esq., and the State was represented by Assistant Prosecutor Donald F. Cox, Jr.
