Press Release - Alyssia Schmitt

Sussex County Prosecutor Francis A. Koch announced the entry of a guilty plea to an accusation before the Honorable William J. McGovern III, J.S.C., at the Sussex County Courthouse in Newton on May 31, 2016, by Alyssia G. Schmitt.

Schmitt, age 22 of Newton, pled guilty to Credit Card Theft, a fourth degree crime.  Sentencing is presently anticipated for July 15, 2016.

In pleading guilty, the defendant admitted to taking her father’s credit card without permission and making transactions at multiple locations.

The case was investigated by Officer Michael Haggerty of the Andover Township Police Department. 

Schmitt was represented by Michael Justice, Esq., and the State was represented by Assistant Prosecutor Donald F. Cox, Jr.
