Press Release - Plea of Kit Pittenger

Sussex County Prosecutor Francis A. Koch announced the entry of a guilty plea to an indictment before the Honorable William J. McGovern III, J.S.C., at the Sussex County Courthouse in Newton on May 23, 2016, by Kit D. Pittenger.
Pittenger, age 50 of Newton, pled guilty to Burglary and to Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance/Heroin, both third degree crimes. Sentencing is presently anticipated for July 8, 2016.
In pleading guilty, the defendant admitted to entering an individual’s Stillwater residence between October 2, 2014, and January 26, 2015, without the owner’s permission. Upon his arrest, the defendant was found to be in possession of heroin.
The case was investigated by Trooper A. Pavlosky of the New Jersey State Police.
Pittenger was represented by Martin Morrison, Esq., and the State was represented by Assistant Prosecutor Donald F. Cox, Jr.
