Press Release - Sentencing of Honorio Martinez

     Sussex County Prosecutor Francis A. Koch announced the sentencing of Honorio Martinez, who appeared before the Honorable William J. McGovern, III, J.S.C. at the Sussex County Courthouse in Newton on April 22, 2016.

     Martinez, age 25, of Westbury, New York, was sentenced to two years Probation with credit for 206 days already served in jail and $162 in court fines and fees.

     He pled guilty on March 9, 2016, to Obstruction Administration of the Law, a crime of the fourth degree.

     Martinez fled on foot after having been given an order to stop by a New Jersey State Trooper.  This occurred while the Troopers were investigating a possible attempted burglary in Lafayette.

     Martinez was represented by Leanne Healy, Esq. and the State was represented by Assistant Prosecutor Donald F. Cox, Jr., Esq.
