Sussex County Prosecutor Francis A. Koch announced the entry of a guilty plea to an accusation before the Honorable William J. McGovern III, J.S.C. at the Sussex County Courthouse, in Newton, on April 21, 2016 by Dean Gobel.
Gobel, age 25, of Sparta pled guilty to the first degree crimes of distribution of cocaine and possession with intent to distribute cocaine and third degree possession with intent to distribute marijuana. Sentencing is presently anticipated for June 10, 2016.
He admitted to selling more than five ounces of cocaine to an individual cooperating with the Sussex County Guns, Gangs and Narcotics Task Force on July 23, 2014 in Wantage Township. He also admitted to possessing more than five ounces of cocaine with the intention of distributing it. On November 4, 2015, in Sparta Township, he admitted to possessing four pounds of marijuana, which he intended to sell. That matter was investigated by Sparta Police Detective J. McCarrick.
Gobel was represented by Martin Morrison, Esq. and the State was represented by Assistant Prosecutor Jerome P. Neidhardt.
