Sussex County Prosecutor Francis A. Koch announced the entry of a guilty plea to an accusation before the Honorable William J. McGovern, III, J.S.C. at the Sussex County Courthouse in Newton on April 18, 2016 by Michael Bivona.
Bivona, age 25, of Wayne, pled guilty to two counts third degree Burglary, two counts third degree Theft, two counts fourth degree Theft, and various other disorderly persons offenses and motor vehicle summonses. Sentencing is presently scheduled for May 20, 2016.
The defendant admitted to breaking into several vehicles in Sparta, Andover and Byram in August of 2015 and taking various items from the vehicles including jewelry, cell phones, a GPS and cash. When the defendant was arrested by Sparta Police he was found to be in possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
Bivona was represented by Janine Cerra, Esq. and the State was represented by Assistant Prosecutor Brent M. Rafuse.
