Sussex County Prosecutor Francis A. Koch announced the sentencing of Mark Forlenza, who appeared before the Honorable William J. McGovern III, J.S.C., at the Sussex County Courthouse in Newton on April 15, 2016.
Forlenza, age 45 of Franklin, was sentenced to five years of probation with 180 days of home detention. He must submit to a TASC evaluation and follow any and all recommendations including complying with methadone treatment, and he must submit a DNA sample at his own expense. He was ordered to obtain and maintain gainful employment and to pay fines and fees of $1205.00.
He pled guilty on March 7, 2016, to Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance, a third degree crime.
On July 18, 2015, a pedestrian found a prescription container bearing Forlenza’s address on the prescription label. The defendant admitted that the bottle and the seven packets of heroin contained therein belonged to him.
Forlenza was represented by Santo Bonanno, Esq., and the State was represented by Assistant Prosecutor Stephanie LaCarrubba.
