- That 4,656 of these Sussex County adults and children receive SNAP benefits.
Food insecurity means that they are lacking reliable access to a sufficient quantity of affordable, nutritious food.
We are seeking volunteers at the Sussex County Food Pantry located in the Sussex County Division of Social Services at 83 Spring Street, Suite 203, Newton, NJ 07860 to volunteer on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.

Anyone interested in donating food items may stop by the Sussex County Division of Social Services at 83 Spring Street, Suite 203, Newton, NJ between 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Special arrangements can be made for donations.
The shelves of our Sussex County food pantries are often bare. We need:
Peanut butter, jelly, saltine crackers, canned fruit, boil in bag rice, Rice a Roni, Knorr's side dishes, individual serving of potatoes, Hungry Jack boxed potatoes, Easy Mac, Mac n Cheese, condensed soup, spaghetti, canned tuna, canned chicken, Ramen, granola bars, breakfast bars, individual servings of cereal, rice, canned veggies, meals in a can, brownie mix, or other non-perishable food items.
Baby wipes, all diaper sizes, paper towels, toilet paper, tooth brushes, toothpaste, bar soap, shampoo, conditioner, deodorant, etc.
Gallon size Ziploc bags, cloth reusable grocery bags, gift cards to local grocery stores.

We are going to hold an 'Eliminating Hunger Summit - CONNECT, LEARN AND ACT' at the SCCC from 6pm-8pm on 6.20.16. We will have the agenda and invitation out by 4.20.16.
