Sussex County Prosecutor Francis A. Koch announced the entry of a guilty plea to an accusation before the Honorable William J. McGovern III, J.S.C., at the Sussex County Courthouse in Newton on April 11, 2016, by Katherine Salerno.
Salerno, age 32 of Newton, pled guilty to Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance, a third degree crime, and Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance, a fourth degree crime. Sentencing is presently anticipated for June 10, 2016.
On September 26, 2015, she was stopped for a motor vehicle offense. In pleading guilty, the defendant admitted to being in possession of heroin and Lyrica.
The case was investigated by Patrolman DeWald of the Byram Township Police Department.
Salerno was represented by Steven Insley, Esq., and the State was represented by Assistant Prosecutor Donald F. Cox, Jr.
