Press Release - Plea of Lori A. Williams

Sussex County Prosecutor Francis A. Koch announced the entry of a guilty plea to an accusation before the Honorable William J. McGovern, III, J.S.C. at the Sussex County Courthouse in Newton on March 28, 2016 by Lori A. Williams.
Williams, age 50, of Dingmans Ferry, PA, pled guilty to two counts of second degree Endangering the Welfare of a Child, second degree Theft, and two counts of third degree Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance. Sentencing is presently scheduled for May 27, 2016.
The defendant admitted that while she was working as a bookkeeper she would write checks to herself and tampered her employer’s checking ledger so as not to get caught. She also opened an unauthorized credit card account for the business and charged various items on the card. This continued for over a period of time between October 2013 and March of 2015 and totaled over $85,000.00.
The defendant also admitted to being in possession of heroin in her motor vehicle while having two minor children with her.
Williams was represented by Daniel Colfax, Esq. and the State was represented by Assistant Prosecutor Brent M. Rafuse.
