Sussex County Prosecutor Francis A. Koch announced the sentencing of Michael Broderick, who appeared before the Honorable William J. McGovern III, J.S.C., at the Sussex County Courthouse in Newton on March 11, 2016.
Broderick, age 26 of Stanhope, was sentenced to three years of probation. Defendant will receive jail credit from the date of sentencing to entry into the treatment program. He was ordered to complete his treatment program, submit a DNA sample at his own expense, abide by the recommendations made from the TASC evaluation, continue with the conditions of Pre-Trial Intervention, and pay fines and fees of $1,155.
He pled guilty on February 3, 2016, to Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance, a third degree crime.
The defendant was in possession of heroin on January 26, 2015.
Broderick was represented by Steven Insley, Esq., and the State was represented by Assistant Prosecutor Laura Nazzaro.
