Sussex County Prosecutor Francis A. Koch announced the sentencing of Jodi Galileo, who appeared before the Honorable William J. McGovern III, J.S.C., at the Sussex County Courthouse in Newton on March 4, 2016.
Galileo, age 35 of Hopatcong, was sentenced to three years of probation. If compliant, she may be released after two years. She must submit to a TASC evaluation and follow all recommendations. She was ordered to pay fines and fees of $1,155.00 to the Superior Court and $89.00 to Hopatcong Municipal Court.
She pled guilty on January 19, 2016, to Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance, a third degree crime, and Failure to Maintain Lane, a motor vehicle offense.
On October 27, 2015, police made a motor vehicle stop of the defendant for failing to maintain her lane. Thereafter, the police discovered that Galileo was in possession of several small bags of heroin.
Galileo was represented by Alexander Rinaldi, Esq., and the State was represented by Assistant Prosecutor Donald F. Cox, Jr.
