Notice of Truck Mounted ULV Spraying
The Sussex County Department of Environmental and Public Health Services, Office of Mosquito Control has scheduled a truck mounted ULV application on
Thursday September 10, 2015 between the hours of 4AM and 7AM.
The Office of Mosquito Control will be using the product: Duet - EPA REG. NO.: 1021-1795-8329 with active ingredients of Prallethrin, Sumithrin and Piperonyl Butoxide.
The application will be made in the Town of Newton in the following areas: Memory Park, Trinity Street and connecting roads, East Clinton Street and connecting roads, Mount View Street.
This is a mist spray using Ultra Low Volume (ULV) from a pickup truck mounted sprayer. Application rate is approximately 1 fluid ounces per acre (less than the equivalent of one shot glass over one acre - 43,560 square feet).
The application is to target Adult Mosquitoes to reduce nuisance populations and prevent the spread of West Nile Virus.
