Put "Life" Back into Living by "Taking Control of Your Health!"

(Newton, NJ) Adults of any age, who are dealing with long term health-related conditions, as well as caregivers of loved ones who experience these challenges, are invited to participate in "TAKE CONTROL OF YOUR HEALTH" a FREE six-week workshop series sponsored by the Sussex County Department of Human Services, Transitional Care Program. During the 2 ½ hour sessions each week, participants will learn how to alleviate pain and fatigue, deal with difficult emotions, develop healthy eating and safe exercising habits, communicate effectively with healthcare professionals, and possibly reduce or eliminate unnecessary hospitalizations in order to "get more out of life." The program includes a FREE manual, "Living a Healthy Life with Chronic Conditions."

"TAKE CONTROL OF YOUR HEALTH" will be offered at three convenient locations:

  • The Sparta Health and Wellness Center, 89 Sparta Avenue, Sparta, NJ. These workshops are scheduled to take place on Tuesdays (with the exception of September 10, which is a Thursday). The workshop dates are as follows: August 25, September 1, 10, 15, 22 & 29, 2015, from 9:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
  • The Sussex Wantage Library, 69 County Route 639, Wantage, NJ. These workshops are scheduled to occur on the following Tuesdays: August 25, September 1, 8, 15, 22 & 29, 2015, from 1:30 p.m. to 4 p.m.
  • The E. Louise Childs Library, 21 Sparta Road, Stanhope, NJ. These workshops are scheduled to occur on the following Fridays: August 28, September 4, 11, 18, 25 & October 2, 2015, from 9:30 a.m. to 12 p.m.
