December programs at the Sussex County Libraries

There's Always Something Happening at the Sussex County Libraries

Newton, NJ – With holiday shopping and high heating bills December can be an expensive month, but the fun is always free at the Sussex County Libraries. This is just a sampling of the 50+ programs happening in December for children, teens and adults. For more information on all events and to register stop by your local branch or go through the Events Calendar link at sussexcountylibrary.org.

Holiday Crafts
Children ages 3-6 are invited to stop by the Louise Childs Branch on December 8, or the Main Library on December 9, between 10:00 and 11:00am to make holiday crafts.

Gingerbread House Workshop
Children of all ages are invited to Main Library on December 10 at 2:00pm to decorate their very own gingerbread houses. Space is limited to 15 and registration is underway.

Charlie Brown Christmas Parties
Each Branch will be hosting a Charlie Brown Christmas Party with games, crafts and snacks for all ages: Dennis Branch, December 12 at 6:30pm; Dorothy Henry and Louise Childs Branches, December 13 at 6:30pm; Sussex-Wantage Branch, December 14 at 4:30pm; Franklin Branch, December 16 at 3:30pm; Main Library, December 17 at 12:00pm.

Teen Advisory Board Pizza Party
Meeting monthly at Main Library, the Teen Advisory Board helps the youth services staff plan programs and gives input on the books, movies and music teens want most. The December 19th meeting will also be a pizza party and White Elephant gift exchange. The fun starts in the Community Room at Main Library at 7:00pm. New members are always welcome.

In addition to all the season-specific programs, monthly meetings continue. LEGO, American Girl and Minecraft clubs for children continue to meet, and for adults there are book clubs, knitting, quilting and yoga.
