Maintain a Healthy Lifestyle and Help Others Do the Same - Become a Volunteer Peer Leader!
(Sparta, NJ) The Sussex County Department of Human Services, Division of Senior Services is offering FREE training for volunteers who are interested in co-leading one of their proven health promotion programs "MOVE Today." Volunteer peer leaders for this program co- facilitate a twelve- week workshop (1 hour per week) for persons who want to increase strength, balance, flexibility and more. Training for this program will take place on Monday, October 29 and Tuesday, October 30, 2012 (you must attend both sessions), from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. "Project HEALTHY BONES." Volunteer peer leaders for this program co-facilitate a twenty-four week (1 ½ hours per week) exercise and education program for adults of any age who have or are at risk for osteoporosis. Training for this program will take place on Monday, November 5 and Tuesday, November 6, 2012 (you must attend both sessions), from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Two day leadership training for both programs will be located at the Sparta Health and Wellness Center (Cancer Center Conference Room), 89 Sparta Avenue, Sparta, NJ 07871.
