FREE Medication Awareness Conference for Seniors
The 28th Operation Medication Awareness conference will be held on Wednesday, October 29, 2008 at the Birchwood Manor in Whippany, N.J. Operation Medication Awareness, founded by H. Lee Gladstein, R.P., and Anthony F Graziano, R.P., pharmacists, is committed to providing health education and consumer information so that senior citizens have knowledge of issues relating to health, well-being and socio-economic factors that affect their lives.
Topics to be addressed at this year’s conference include: Know Your Pharmacist; Smoking Cessation; ABC’s of COPD; Pain Associated with Diabetic Neuropathy and Joint Replacement Medication. The benefits of this all day program to senior citizens can only be measured by the program participants’ and health care professionals’ favorable responses to the day’s events and the continued popularity that the program has enjoyed over the past two decades.
Operation Medication Awareness begins at 7:30 a.m., with a continental breakfast, educational exhibits and promotional give-a-ways. The educational presentations begin at 9 a.m. The day concludes with a complimentary full, sit-down, luncheon. Admission is free, but each senior must have a ticket. Tickets for this event are available at area CVS drugstores and the Sussex County Division of Senior Services: 973-579-0555 or firstname.lastname@example.org
